GunnarOlsen hold a M.Sc in chemistry from Southern University of Denmark (SDU) Workingon Chemical sensing of TNT derivatives by tetrathiafulvalene functionalizedcalix[4]pyrrole sensor and a PhD degree in chemistry from Technical Universityof Denmark (DTU), where he as part of the NanoChemistry group research thepossibilities within organic functionalization of graphene-like materials withsupramolecular moieties for applications within chemical sensory systems.Currently he is working in the Jan O. Jeppesen group at SDU ontetrathiafulvalene based supramolecular systems for unidirectional motion andits potential use in molecular muscles mimics.

报告摘要:

Tetrathiafulvalenes (TTF) is an excellent electron donor and is therefore been used in amyriad of application. In our lab we use it as a supramolecular station formolecular interlocked molecules i.e. rotaxanes and catanes with the cyclolarCyclobis (paraquat-p-phenylene) (Bluebox).Due to the high affinity between TTF and Bluebox templated synthesis can beused to achieve molecular interlocked systems. We are further interested in thecontrolled movement of the Bluebox around in the system (unidirectional motion)should systems can be utilized for molecular switches, shuttles, machines,muscles etc.

The control of the movement around in thesesystems is achieved by oxidation of the TTF station to a dication resulting inhigh repulsion between TTF2+ and bluebox combined with modifying thekinetic barriers in the system to control the direction.
